Directions to CABC from the North and the M4 Motorway

Southbound on the A34 or from M4 junction 13:

Once south of the M4, you will need to filter to the left, following the overhead sign for Newbury and Thatcham. This then takes you off the A34 onto the A339.

After passing Vodafone HQ you will arrive at the northern end of Newbury at a large roundabout with traffic lights. At this roundabout, turn off to the right (4th exit), following sign for town centre.

Proceeding along London Rd, you will see a Renault dealership on your right and then a Texaco petrol station on your left.

At the mini roundabout, you can turn left to find parking in Park Way. Alternatively, cross straight over and then turn right into Pelican Lane, where there is also ground-level parking.

To reach the office once you have parked, you proceed to the end of London Road as far as the clock tower. Cross over, and you will find us on the first floor of the building to the left of Broadways pub, immediately beyond an archway. There is a large blue front door.

If you are coming from the railway station by taxi, or if you need to ask for directions at any point, we suggest you do not refer to The Broadway. Instead, say you are going to the top (north) end of Northbrook Street, by the Clock Tower. This way, local people will know where you are trying to get to.

 

Directions to CABC from the South

Northbound on the A34:

You will bypass the exits to the south of Newbury town and enter from the north. You therefore need to exit from the A34 as though for the A4, Newbury and Hungerford.

After leaving the A34, proceed eastward towards Newbury through a 30 mph zone (Speen). This road, the A4, will bring you to another roundabout. Take the third exit, towards Newbury town centre, passing the entrance to Waitrose on your right and then coming to a mini-roundabout.

By turning right (uphill) and then taking the first left turn-off, you should be able to make your way to the multi-storey carpark in Pembroke St (details overleaf).

Alternatively, for ground-level parking, go straight on downhill at the first mini roundabout, and then left at the ClockTower. Beyond the ClockTower, you can turn left to find ground-level parking in Pelican Lane, or right into Park Way.

CABC’s office is an easy walk from any of these car parks. We are next door to the Broadways pub, and opposite the ClockTower Pharmacy. Immediately. There is a large blue front door.

NOTES

Please note, when driving, that most of Newbury’s main street (Northbrook Street, of which the Broadway forms one end) is closed to all traffic except buses and emergency vehicles between 10 a.m and 6 p.m.
